Windmills of Your Mind circa 1898

Forget tilting at windmills -- how cool would it be to live in one? Built in 1898 tis is what looks like a shingle-style building in Newport, Maine. At just 1526 square feet, it's a little cozy but it has 2 acres and a view of the lake. 5 stories tall means that you can get up into the tower to what looks like they are calling a "reader's loft". Has 3 bedrooms and one bath. Beautiful setting and at $164,900 it's very affordable.

Southern Comfort - 1925 Florida Cottage

Not too big. Loaded with charm. Big broad veranda. And a POOL! All for just $434,900.

Have to research Tarpon Spring but they says this gorgeous Victorian Cottage is located on the quaint street of Inness Drive. Nearly 3,600 square feet, this home offers four bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths, a pool and basement! With views of the Bayou, the custom kitchen with granite counters, porcelain tiled backsplash, 42" wood cabinets is perfect for entertaining. Hardwood floors, two fireplaces, original archways and moldings set the mood for this charming & cozy home. Enjoy a good book in the sun room or relax on the back porch while overlooking the spacious backyard and garden. The enormous pool with waterfall & hot-tub is surrounded by tropical landscaping boasting a variety of lovely flowers and plants. Newer 'Certainteed' roof and NO flood insurance required! The bedrooms are very large with high ceilings and their own unique design. Sitting on a 1/3 of an acre, this home was professionally landscaped to ensure privacy and serenity... I could definitely see spending my golden years here.

1790's Prewitt Plantation in Southern Virginia

Loving this one. Especially the fact that it's just $499k and on 25 ACRES. With just 3 bedrooms and 2 baths, this gracious plantation home isn't too ridiculously huge. Rooms look big and airy. And look at the woodwork. Impressive intricate detailed fireplaces. Large kitchen/dining with fireplace, laundry room and separate backstair entry to servant quarters. Basement, zoned central heat and air, weatherboard smokehouse with slate roof, hand forged nails found in construction. Guided entry through large boxwoods to the grand entryway. Unfinished basement built with field stone. Slate and metal roof. Desirable opportunity to reside in a secluded natural setting enjoying abundant wildlife and tranquil peaceful surroundings. Located in Campbell County, near small rural town of Brookneal, VA. Convenient within thirty minutes of Lynchburg, two hours to Richmond or two and one half hours to Research Triangle Park, Raleigh Durham, NC. With that drive to civilization you'd definitely have to telecommute. Country home anyone?
